KAMILLA DUNSTAN

Mezzo-soprano

Kamilla studied at the Royal College of Music International Opera School, Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Kamilla makes her Glyndebourne role debut this Autumn in a semi staged production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as Zweite Dame after covering the role in the 2019 Festival.

This summer Kamilla would have been performing the role of Suzy/Lolette in West Green House Opera’s production of La Rondine (Puccini) but was sadly cancelled due to Covid-19.

Previous engagements include Flosshilde ( Das Rheingold ) at the Birmingham Symphony Hall (UK), Eurydice The Woman (cover) ( The Mask of Orpheus, Birtwistle) at English National Opera, and Fanny Price ( Mansfield Park, Dove). Roles include Naomi (Pegasus Opera), Zaida (Cover, Garsington Opera),Faramondo (London Handel Festival), Ramiro, Hänsel, Ariodante (LHF), Orlofsky, Dorabella (Clonter Opera) and Ninetta (Cover, BYO).

Kamilla was a Polonksy Fellow at the Aspen Music Festival & School’s Opera Centre in 2016 (USA), was a previous Samling Artist (UK) and a Wagner Stipendien (Bayreuth Festspiele, Germany).

Kamilla performed Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at the Birmingham Symphony Hall (BBC Radio 3).

Awards include being a Finalist in the Maureen Lehane Singing Competition in 2018 (Wigmore Hall, UK) ABRSM Scholar, Help Musicians UK Tutton Award and the Josephine Baker Trust.
